Guided by the mission and vision of Zonta International, the Zonta Club of South Bay is committed to advancing the status of women and girls through meaningful service projects and strong advocacy efforts at the local, national, and global levels.

We believe that women’s rights are human rights—and that every woman and girl deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential, live free from violence, and participate equally in all areas of society.

Empowering the Next Generation

Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowerment. Our club provides scholarships and awards to outstanding students who demonstrate:

High academic achievement

A strong record of volunteer service and community involvement

Through these scholarships, we invest in young women who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence

The Zonta Club of South Bay actively supports survivors of domestic violence through partnerships with trusted community organizations, including 1736 Family Crisis Center.

Our service includes:

Financial and in-kind support
Awareness and education efforts
Advocacy for survivor-centered services

We are committed to helping create safe pathways toward healing, stability, and independence for women and families affected by violence.

Our Advocacy Efforts

Ending Child Marriage

Zonta advocates to end child marriage in the United States and globally, recognizing it as a violation of human rights that limits education, health, and economic opportunities for girls. Through education, advocacy campaigns, and collaboration, we work to raise awareness and support policies that protect girls’ futures.

Combating Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a global and local issue that disproportionately affects women and girls. Our club supports advocacy efforts to:

Raise public awareness
Promote prevention and education
Support survivors through community partnerships

We stand firmly against exploitation and work to amplify voices calling for justice, protection, and systemic change.

Advocacy in Action

Through education, collaboration, and public awareness, the Zonta Club of South Bay joins Zontians worldwide in advocating for:

Gender equity
An end to violence against women and girls
Equal access to education, health care, and economic opportunity

Together, we work to create a world in which no woman lives in fear of violence and every woman is empowered to thrive.

At the Area 4 Meeting held on 3/5/2025, Keynote Speakers are giving presentations focusing on the ways to increase awareness of domestic violence against women and girls.
